Massive 1.3GB Android Oreo update coming to Nokia 8, HMD teases with beta pics
On its own, this appearance wasn't exactly a 100% guarantee for the looming update, but over the weekend, HMD's Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas practically put all doubts to rest. The company official shared a couple of pretty interesting images on Twitter:
We are on it @nokiamobile . @Android#Oreo maturing nicely on #Nokia8 , will release when perfect. Stay tuned! pic.twitter.com/wPxEGA4rJn

While the view from his Dubai office is clearly noteworthy, mobile fans will perhaps be more intrigued by the fact that the Nokia 8 unit pictured in these photos is one restart away from installing a beta version of Oreo. The changelog doesn't reveal much, save for the hefty size of the update - 1.3GB.
Apart from that, the Tweet doesn't reveal an ETA for the patch, but Sarvikas mentions that it will be released "when [it's] perfect". Nokia 8 is set to hit the shelves in several major markets before September wraps up, so we're inclined to believe that a rollout will possibly happen in early October.
The 8 won't be the only HMD handset to get the Oreo treatment. Sarvikas recently assured fans of the brand that all Android-powered Nokia smartphones will get the major software upgrade.
