The specifications of the upcoming Meizu MX6 are now seemingly confirmed as the handset was spotted making the rounds in the GeekBench database.
Meizu, the up-and-coming smartphone manufacturer from China, is getting ready to launch a new flagship smartphone. Called the Meizu MX6, the handset is said to be officially introduced next week, but thanks to a succession of leaks, we're convinced that we know a lot about the upcoming phone.
The recent Geekbench leak lists the same Meizu MX6 specs as a previous AnTuTu leak. While a correlation between leaks coming from the two benchmarks does not guarantee that these will be the actual specs, they certainly allow us to get a good look at the overall picture.
Geekbench lists the Meizu MX6 as featuring a MediaTek Helio X20 chipset with a 1.39GHz deca-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The Helio X20 SoC actually features 4 ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.4GHz, 4 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.85, and 2 Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2.1GHz.
Geekbench cannot account for the CPU's tri-cluster CPU architecture, but the core count and the model match our previous expectations.
In terms of CPU performance, GeekBench lists the phone with 1822 points in single-core tests and 5183 points in multi-core tests. These numbers are comparable with what we've come to expect from phones equipped with the Snapdragon 820 and the Exynos 8890.
The handset will most likely run Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but with the manufacturer's own UX on top.
The AnTuTu benchmark also listed specs such as a display running 1920 by 1080 pixels, 32GB of integrated storage space, a 12MP primary camera, and a 5MP secondary sensor for selfies and video conferences.
A few days ago, alleged live photos of the Meizu MX6 leaked in China, revealing a design inspired by the Meizu Pro 6, a phone that the company recently launched as its new flagship smartphone.
According to rumors, Meizu plans to price the 32GB version of the MX6 at the equivalent of $295. The 64GB version is expected to be priced at $305. We expect to learn all of the final details, including detailed pricing and availability, at the official unveiling event scheduled for July 19.
