Maemo finally lands its first turn-by-turn navigation app
Maemo powered devices like the Nokia N900 truly shows how much depth they embody by being able to accomplish a myriad of feats like being a portable gaming device to running a full fledged computing operating system. Up until now, it lacked one thing to make it a traveler's choice in bringing it along on road trips; being a decent GPS unit. Finally after much wait, Maemo finally lands its own turn-by-turn navigation application with Sygic Mobile Maps – the same exact one made available to other mobile platforms. Sygic Mobile Maps simply will now enable the Maemo powered Nokia N900 into becoming a portable and reliable GPS navigational device with its voice guided directions, latest updated maps, lane assist, multi-route stop planning, and diverse search for millions of points of interests. The app is available now in Europe and comes with a 59.99 euro price tag that includes most of the maps of Eastern and Western Europe. Unfortunately North American Nokia N900 owners may want to hold off from purchasing it as the maps for the region are not yet available, but further regions will be gradually included down the road. Despite that shortcoming, it still will prove to be quite useful for users who have been yearning for a turn-by-turn navigation application for Maemo.
