Lumia Beamer's final update closes down the app

14comments
Originally launched over two years ago, the Nokia Beamer app was developed to allow Windows Phone users to "beam" the image on their handset, to another screen. The Nokia Beamer app was derived from the Nokia PhotoBeamer app which launched three years ago, and allowed Windows Phone users to "beam" photos from their handset to a target display.

When Microsoft closed on its purchase of Nokia Devices and Services, it changed the name of the app from Nokia Beamer to Lumia Beamer. Back in September, the company announced that Lumia Beamer would be among the Windows Phone apps that would be shut down some time this year. That day actually came on October 30th, but the app continued to work until today's final update bought the curtains down on Lumia Beamer.

The final update also reminded those with Lumia Beamer installed on their phone, that they can generate some more space on their handset by uninstalling it.
