LineageOS 15.1 (Android 8.1 Oreo) released for OnePlusOne, Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus/LTE-A and more
It was back toward the end of 2016 when LineageOS started to rise from the ashes of CyanogenMod. Now, the latest version of the open source operating system based on Android is available for the OnePlus One, Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A, and the Oppo Find 7a/7s. Lineage 15.1 is based on Android 8.1 Oreo; if you can unlock the bootloader on your phone, have a custom recovery like TWRP, and know what you're doing, you can flash LineageOS on your compatible handset. And you do not need to root your phone to flash LineageOS.
The OnePlus One no longer has support for OS updates from OnePlus, yet thanks to Lineage, you can flash the equivalent of Android 8.1 on the device. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus and Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A are both eligible to flash Lineage 15.1, and the Oppo Find 7a and Oppo Find 7s are sharing the same build. Additionally, the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 4G is getting a LineageOS 14.1 build, which is based on Android Nougat.
