Lenovo's OPhone gets the hands-on treatment
Have you heard of the OPhone? No, not the iPhone. We are talking about the Android-powered smartphone created by Lenovo Mobile for China Mobile. We’ve seen the device before, but now ModMyGphone has posted a hands-on of the device, showing the interface in action.
The interface looks like the bastard child of the iPhone OS and Android, featuring both iPhone-like icons and standard Android UI elements. It also has on-screen widgets and multiple home screens, mounted on the sides of a 3D cube (which reminded us of the LG ARENA’s S-CLASS 3D UI). So, it is sure to lose an originality contest, but as far as the video goes, the functionality seemed quite decent, combining some of the best features of the most popular mobile operating systems. Unfortunately, we must confess that our Chinese is a little rusty so the on-screen options were mostly lost to us…
