Lenovo LePhone officially launches in China
Lenovo is going after a bigger piece of the global mobile market by soon launching the “LePhone” into the world's largest cell phone market; China. Within five years, Lenovo expects to see approximately 10 percent to 20 percent of their revenue to come solely from mobile internet services. With the Lenovo LePhone officially launching in China today, it is hoped that it will be able to take the country by storm with an eventual move to other emerging markets in time. Seeing that it's their first dive into the mobile space, the LePhone offers some decent features such as Android 2.1 and a large sized AMOLED touchscreen. There are some high expectations riding on this launch because Lenovo intends on selling “millions” of phones over the next five years and “tens of millions” afterwards. That figures could potentially be exceeded if some kind of deal were to happen with Palm. Nonetheless, the LePhone is no doubt a decent start for them and will hopefully prove to be a success on a worldwide scale.
