Leaked photos show interchangeable lens for Android and iOS smartphones from Sony
A published report on Monday suggests that Sony will be selling interchangeable lens for Android and iOS smartphones. Pictures show two Sony "Lens Cameras," the DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100. Both are said to contain a built-in sensor, Bionz processor, Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity, and a microSD slot. The lack of camera controls and a screen indicates that these lenses will be controlled by a smartphone or tablet, attached to the device with the use of a magnet.
The larger lens is said to have an RX100MII sensor and ZEISS glass. The 1 inch sensor is the same used as on the Nikon 1. The other lens offers a 10x zoom lens with a 1/2,3" 18 megapixel CMOS sensor. While no pricing was leaked, Sony is expected to launch the pair soon. Considering that the IFA show in Berlin is just weeks away, we might see the lens unveiled at that time.
