Leaked photos reveal the Sony Xperia Z2 Compact, aka the Sony Xperia A2
When Sony released the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, it introduced a new type of "mini" handset. Instead of taking a machete to the specs of the full-sized model, Sony left in such high-end components as a quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU, a 20.7MP rear-facing snapper, and 2GB of RAM. The only major changes made were to the screen (4.3 inches compared with 5 inches on the Xperia Z1), the screen's resolution (720 x 1280 compared to 1080 x 1920), and the battery (2300mAh vs. 3000mAh). Many smartphone connoisseurs seem to prefer the Xperia Z1 Compact over the full-sized model.
Now that the Sony Xperia Z2 is the Japanese manufacturer's current flagship model, the Sony Xperia Z2 Compact should be close to getting launched. Sure enough, some leaked photographs from a Sony brochure reveal the next Xperia Compact model, which will be known as the Sony Xperia A2. The phone will be offered in Grey Black, White, Lavender and Orange. The leaked specs include a 4.3 inch screen with resolution of 720 x 1280, a quad-core 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 (801?) CPU, 2GB of RAM inside with 16GB of native storage. The dimensions are said to be 128mm × 65mm × 9.6mm. The back is supposedly plastic, like the one on the Xperia Z1 Compact.
Also in the brochure is a picture of the full-sized Sony Xperia Z2, expected to be available in Japan during June, via Docomo. You can check it all out by looking at the slideshow below.
