Huawei P20 Lite renders depict an iPhone X-esque notch

Huawei already invited us to a March 27th event, where it is expected to unveil its next flagship - the P20 - and its P20 Plus and P20 Lite sidekicks, as has become its habit in the last few years. What piqued our interest in the first leaked renders and images of the devices, is that one of them, dubbed to be a prototype, showed a very iPhone X-esque cutout at the top bezel, and a vertical dual camera set on the back, again resembling Apple's finest handset for the season.

Well, a very credible leakster with a proven track record, has now created CAD-based image renders of what he claims to be that same P20 Lite, and, lo and behold, it does sport a notch and vertical camera. Make of this what you will, but the alleged P20 Lite cutout sits in the middle between the tiny one on the Essential Phone, that goes around the front camera only, and the wider notch of the X, which has to house all the TrueDepth camera paraphernalia that allows for Face ID, Animoji, and other 3D face-scanning shenanigans.

The fact that Huawei boasted not long ago that it has developed technology similar to Face ID didn't fly over our heads, and a fraction of this tech may have trickles down to the Lite version as well, which may introduce a 2D face recognition, similar to what Samsung or OnePlus are offering on their phones now.
