Invitation to the event that will unveil the LG G Pro 2 on February 13th
The phablet-sized
LG G Pro 2 will be introduced by the Korean manufacturer on February 13th, according to a published report out of Korea. Invitations to the event, which will be held at the LG Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul, have been distributed. The invites read "Knock-knock knockin' on" which is a tip of the hat to LG's Knock On feature which allows the user to awaken a sleeping handset by tapping on the screen twice. This feature will be on the LG G Pro 2.
The LG G Pro 2 is not technically the sequel to the flagship
LG G2. The former is rumored to have a 6 inch screen which would put the phone in the phablet category. LG is expected to introduce its next flagship Android handset
with the LG G3. Unlike the 1080 x 1920 resolution on the LG G Pro 2, the LG G3 is
expected to feature a 1440 x 2560 QHD screen and challenge the
Samsung Galaxy S5 as the top Android flavored handset for 2014.
The LG G Pro 2 will have some mouth watering specs including the quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU under the hood, 3GB of RAM on board, and the 13MP rear-facing camera with OIS. Video playback will support 4K, and the front-facing snapper will weigh in at 2.1MP. Android 4.4 will come on the phone right out of the box.
So circle your calendar folks, February 13th is coming next Thursday and so is the LG G Pro 2.
