LG to hold NYC event for LG G2 on August 7th

Last month, we told you that Korean manufacturer LG was going to hold an international media event in New York City on August 7th. At the time, the rumor was that LG would be unveiling the eagerly awaited LG G2 and the LG Optimus L9 II during the event. On Monday, invitations were sent out to various media outlets and now there can be no guessing as to whether the LG G2 will be introduced in the Big Apple on August 7th. LG has highlighted the letter "G" and the number "2" throughout the invite, writing Great 2 Have You!

What is becoming clear about the LG G2 is that it is the model that back in March set hearts a flutter as the LG Megalodon. At the time, this beastly phone was supposed to have a 5.2 inch screen, be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 and offer 3GB of RAM (which will be available with the LTE-A version of the device for SK Telecom). While back in March, this seemed like a stretch, here it is about to be introduced next month.

We should mention that despite the August introduction of the LG G2 in New York, the phone is expected to launch in Korea sometime this month. This should be the aforementioned LTE-A enabled version of the phone for SK Telecom's next gen network.
