LG teases 'something new' with a picture: expect a mid-range LG Class phablet

LG is teasing 'something new' coming up on September 21st, and French leakster Steve Hammerstoffer believes the image that LG has posted is of a phone that will be called the ‘LG Class’.

This upcoming handset features the signature for LG rear-positioned volume and power keys, but what’s interesting is a new turn for LG design with a much boxier, seemingly metallic body.

At its core this rumored LG Class (also referred to as LG-H740) remains a mid-range phablet, with no ambitions to rival the big names in the industry such as Apple’s iPhone 6s Plus or the Samsung Galaxy Note5. Instead, this upcoming phone will compete on price terms and with its distinct looks, it has a couple of aces up its sleeve.

As to the LG Class specs, here is what can be expected:

Platform: Android 5.1.1 Lollipop
Screen: 5.7-inch with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels
SoC: Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 @ 1.5GHz
RAM: 2GB
Cameras: 12-megapixel main camera, 5-megapixel front cam
Internal storage: 8GB

It’s immediately obvious that the low amount of internal storage will be the biggest limitation to this phone, but chances are that you will be able to expand the storage via microSD cards.

How do you like this upcoming new LG phone and its design?
