LG reconfirms plans to release a new high-end smartphone in the second half of 2015
Not long after launching the G4 (which has yet to be released in some markets, including the US), LG is now readying another high-end handset.

According to Focus Taiwan, an LG official confirmed that the new smartphone should arrive sometime in the second half of the year. It's not the first time we're hearing about this. Back in March, LG CEO Cho Jun-ho was quoted as saying that the company planned to "release a product that stands above the G series." We assumed that the upcoming device could be a successor to the LG G Pro 2 (pictured below), which would compete with Samsung's Galaxy Notes. However, Focus Taiwan mentions that the hardware specs of the new high-end smartphone haven't been finalized, so anything could happen in the end.

LG already introduced a Galaxy Note-like handset this year: the G Stylo / G4 Stylus. But this is a mid-range device that can't stand next to Samsung's Note 4 (or the upcoming Note 5).

Do you think that LG is really readying a Galaxy Note competitor? Or maybe its upcoming high-end smartphone will attract different types of users?
