LG plans on unveiling 3 handsets with digital TV features at CES
Although we’ve reported that LG doesn’t plan on attending the festivities for MWC this upcoming year, it looks like CES is where they’ll place their attention fully. With the digital television transition process complete in the US, LG plans on making waves at CES by introducing 3 handsets with digital TV features. With that in mind, they hope to jump the gun and get a decent head start in the US mobile TV market. The timing is perfect because LG has completed developing a second-generation chip with improved efficiency and performance – allowing for the viewing of digital programming on a phone. LG hasn’t come out to specify if these 3 handsets are completely new or if older ones would include the new features – so far from the photo, it looks like an LG Lotus with an antennae sticking out. Nonetheless, we’re excited about some of the new technologies that will be incorporated into mobile phones that will be introduced during CES.
