LG launches its unique AKA smartphone in more markets around the world
Last week, we told you that LG would launch its AKA smartphone in Taiwan, several months after releasing it in South Korea. Now, the company announced that it's actually bringing the handset to more markets around the world, with Hong Kong being the first to get it. After Hong Kong, the LG AKA will be launched in Taiwan, China, Singapore, Turkey, and "additional markets" (these should be announced soon).
According to LG, the AKA "has seen healthy sales and positive customer feedback for its originality and sense of humor" in Korea. As you may know, the smartphone has four color variants (yellow, white, navy, and pink), each with its own personality - animated eyes - revealed when a special case is used.
The LG AKA currently runs Android 4.4 KitKat, but we assume LG will update it to Android Lollipop sometime later this year. Its specs include a 5-inch 720p display, LTE connectivity, a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, 1.5 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of internal memory. On the back, the handset has an 8 MP camera with laser auto focus, while the front-facing camera is a 2 MP one.
