LG Velvet 5G starts receiving Android 11 stable update based on LG UX 10
LG has been improving its Android update roadmap in the last couple of years, so its flagships are no longer among the last to receive important software updates. That being said, if you've bought LG's Velvet smartphone, you'll be happy to know that you can now download the highly-anticipated Android 11 update.
Truth be told, only LG Velvet 5G users in South Korea can download the update right now, at least according to a Redditor (via PiunikaWeb). But that's quite alright, as these updates tend to expand to more countries in just a few weeks, so even if you're not living in South Korea, chances are that you'll be able to upgrade your LG Velvet 5G to Android 11 by the end of the month.
The update is dated January 27 and weighs in at 2.2GB, which is quite a lot of space. Unfortunately, no other information about the LG Velvet 5G Android 11 update is available right now. There's just one line in the changelog that confirms this update is an “Android OS upgrade,” so we don't even know what security patch is included.
We'll keep an out for any other details that pop up online about this update, and we'll let you know when it reaches the US. Hopefully, that will happen sooner rather than later.
