LG announced back in April that it has kicked off the rollout of Android 8.0 Oreo to the G6, and that the G5 and V20 will follow soon. Well, it looks like “soon” won't be as soon as LG V20 owners would want to since the update won't arrive until August.
Unfortunately, the information hasn't been confirmed by LG, but at least one Canadian carrier claims Android 8.0 Oreo for the V20 is expected to arrive in August. Fido is one of the North American carriers that will offer the major Android update to LG V20 owners in about two months from now.
Since the V20 was launched back in 2016, it's likely that Oreo will be the last important Android OS update the flagship will receive, but it should continue to receive security updates for one more year or so.
Naturally, Fido won't the only North American carrier to update the LG V20 in the coming weeks, it's just the first that we hear about. It remains to see when the LG V20 Android 8.0 Oreo update will hit the United States and which carriers will offer it first.
