LG Optimus G Pro to get U.S. introduction at New York event on May 1st
The LG Optimus G Pro will make its U.S. introduction on May 1st at a media event in the Big Apple. The press event includes a concert from what LG is calling "Indie music sensation Atlas Genius". The event will take place in the evening and we should find out then when the phone will be launched and exactly where those in the states will be able to find the device. We assume that if there are any changes in the specs, we will hear about them too. Earlier this month, sources said that the LG Optimus G Pro will be launched via AT&T on May 10th, which would dovetail perfectly with the press event.

The phone will be going up against some heavy duty competition in the U.S. market, such as the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One and the Apple iPhone 5. Will LG be able to make any headway against its fellow Korean OEM? The device has some proprietary features such as QSlide 2.0 which allows multi-taskers to view two apps at once. One app appears solid and the other is translucent and by using the slide bar, you can adjust the settings to switch which app is which. Dual camera lets you use the front and rear facing camera together and Smart Video uses the front facing camera to track your eyes. If it detects that you are watching a video, it will continue playing. Once it notices that your eyes are no longer glued to the screen, the video stops playing thus saving battery life, and remembering where you left off.
