LG G4 will feature a "groundbreaking" 16 MP rear camera, plus an 8 MP front-facing camera
LG today confirmed that its upcoming G4 flagship smartphone will offer a 16 MP rear camera made in-house by LG Innotek. According to LG, this 16 MP camera module is "groundbreaking", thanks to the fact that it comes with a wide aperture of f/1.8.
Reportedly, the new camera module can receive 80% more light than the camera of the LG G3, which means the G4 should be able to take high quality photos in low light scenarios, as well as when capturing moving subjects.
Besides the 16 MP rear camera, "in response to the explosive growth of selfies," LG Innotek also developed an 8 MP front-facing camera for the G4. Using an "ultra-thin IR filter" to keep "infrared light from entering the camera lens", the new 8 MP front-facing shooter should give images "more natural and accurate colors."
To recap, the LG G4 will feature a 16 MP rear camera, an 8 MP front-facing camera, a 5.5-inch Quad HD IPS display, and Android 5.0 Lollipop with LG's UX 4.0. Other features are yet to be confirmed. The G4 will be officially announced later this month, on April 28. Are you waiting for it?
