Thanks to a pair of giveaways run by Sprint and T-Mobile, the retail LG G4 pricing has been revealed, and it is quite a bit lower than the other seasonal flagships. According to the contest's rulebook of Sprint "eight (8) potential winners will each receive one (1) LG G4 Smartphone. The estimated Approximate Retail Value ("ARV") of each prize is $600.00."
T-Mobile is giving seven of those each week, for a total of 28 LG G4 handsets, and the ARV is still pegged at $600: "Entry Period 1: Seven (7) LG G4 mobile devices. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $600.00 each. Entry Period 2: Seven (7) LG G4 mobile devices. ARV: $600.00 each. Entry Period 3: Seven (7) LG G4 mobile devices. ARV: $600.00 each. Entry Period 4: Seven (7) LG G4 mobile devices. ARV: $600.00 each. Total ARV of prizes: $16,800.00"
There you have it - while this might still be a slightly subsidized retail price that reflects the vast quantities of a particular model that carriers are able to order, it is still $50 less than what they are charging for, say, the Galaxy S6, or the HTC One M9. Any takers?
