LG G3 getting tested for Android 7.0 update?
The LG G3 was launched by LG in May 2014 with Android 4.4.2 installed. Since then, it has been updated to Android 5.0, Android 5.1 and Android 6.0. For some phones, that would be the end of the line. However, a Geekbench benchmark test dated today reveals that the two-year old flagship is being tested with Android 7.0. on board.
The LG G5 and LG G4 should both receive Android 7.0, and the Las Vegas line probably would include the LG G3 along with them. And as it turned out, the first handset to come with Nougat out of the box was the recently released LG V20.
As far as the Geekbench test is concerned, the single-core score was 929 with a multi-core score of 2977. Keep in mind that the phone is powered by the quad-core 2.46GHz Snapdragon 801 SoC. That chipset was the cat's meow back in 2014 when it powered a number of Android flavored high-end handsets.
