LG Esteem to bring LTE, Gingerbread to MetroPCS for $349 with $100 rebate
A tipster sent Android Central screenshots from LG's Partner Portal that shows off the LG Esteem, heading for MetroPCS. The handset will offer LTE connectivity and will be equipped with a 4.3 inch LCD display and has a single-core Snapdragon 1GHz processor driving the phone with 512MB of RAM. The 5MP camera on back captures video at 720p while the 1.3MP front-facing shooter will snap self-portraits and allows you to video chat. The latest version of LG's Optimus UI will run on top of Gingerbread. The price of the LG Esteem will be $349 with a $100 mail-in-rebate.
Back during the dog days of July, PhoneNews said that the LG Esteem would be a version of the LG Revolution for the pre-paid carrier. There are some differences, such as a reduced 4GB of internal storage vs, the 16GB inside the Verizon handset. The story fills out some more of the specs, mentioning that the build of Gingerbread on the phone will be Android 2.3.4. According to the PhoneNews story, the LG Esteem will be launched in the middle of next month which fits with the phone's appearance on LG's Partner Portal.
