LG Cosmos 3 and Revere 2 quietly introduced by Verizon
Last week a tipster informed us the Verizon would be getting an LG Cosmos 3 and LG Revere 2, both of which were set to replace the older Cosmos 2 and Revere. Now we've learned that both the newer models have been quietly released by Verizon, though not much has changed.
The LG Cosmos 3 comes in at free with a 2-year contract, and features a 2" 320x240 pixel display, 1.3 MP camera, social networking apps built-in, mobile web & email, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and supports microSD memory cards up to 32GB. Also on board is a similar sliding design that is the Cosmos tradition, that opens to reveal a 4-row physical QWERTY keyboard.
Meanwhile, the LG Revere 2 clamshell style phone is also free with contract, and comes with an internal 2" 176x220 display, monochrome .96" external display, 1.3 MP camera, mobile web & email, and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, but lacks any expandable memory.
Both the LG Cosmos 3 and Revere 2 are designed for people that want an inexpensive basic phone, without the need for a data plan. Yet the Cosmos 3 seems to be the greater "bargain" since you also get the sliding design with QWERTY keyboard, while the Revere 2 appears to be from a dying breed of flip phones.
