LG Band Play announced as the company's newest Android smartphone, 1-watt speaker included
LG just announced a brand new Android smartphone called Band Play - a pretty unusual name for a smartphone, isn't it?
Unveiled in South Korea, the handset is a mid-range one that features a 1-watt speaker which should provide a clear, rich sound. Another thing that might make music aficionados happy is that the Band Play comes with a pair of LG QuadBeat 3 earphones out of the box (these earphones were previously announced in Korea among the official accessories for the LG G4 flagship).
The Band Play runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, and has a 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels. There's a 13 MP rear camera with laser auto focus on the back, and a 5 MP wide-angle camera on the front. Powered by a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, the new LG smartphone also features 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of expandable internal memory, and a 2,300 mAh removable battery.
The LG Band Play will be available in South Korea later this week for 394,800 KRW (about $356), in two color versions: black and white. LG didn't say if it's planning to release the Band Play in other markets. Would you be interested in getting one?
