KitKat update to HTC One halted in the U.K.
HTC has halted the Android 4.4 KitKat update to its HTC One in the U.K. In a statement, the Taiwan based manufacturer said that some HTC One users who updated their handsets are experiencing some difficulties with the update. Of course, HTC says that it is working hard to resolve the problem. In the meantime, it has revised its U.K. Software Updates page to show that the update to carriers is back at the integration stage, which comes prior to the push to customers.
We're not sure exactly what difficulties U.K. HTC One owners are experiencing with the KitKat update, but the issues were obviously severe enough for HTC to put a stop to things for now. In the U.S., the same update to the HTC One has gone fairly smoothly despite a delay in pushing it out.
We will keep an eye on this situation, and while HTC hasn't said when it will resume the updates, as soon as they do we will let you know.
