Kickstarter launches official app for iOS
We all love giving money to potentially great ideas, and Kickstarter has become the best way to do just that (even though only about 20% of all the Kickstarter products actually become reality.) We've seen a bunch of really cool ideas come through Kickstarter
including Ouya, and the POP Charger, and now you can spend money on potential products from your mobile device, or at least from your iOS device.
The app is well designed, making it easy for backers to discover new projects, and watch project videos, as well as get updates on projects that you've already contributed to. The app can even use your location to find nearby projects that you may be interested in backing. On the other side of things, the app is quite nice for those running projects. If you have a project on Kickstarter, you can use the app to communicate with backers, track the progress of your project, or send out updates on your project wherever you are.
As of now, the app is optimized for the iPhone and iPod Touch, but will run on the iPad. No word on iPad optimization or an Android version.
If you want in on the app, Kickstarter is available for free in the iTunes App Store.
