KIN continues to live thanks to recent updates
Although being branded as a failure seeing that the lifeline was quickly unplugged a mere 50 days since it first launched, Microsoft is still doing what they can to appease current Microsoft KIN handset owners. So how are they going to accomplish this you ask? Well, how about quietly releasing two updates that marginally improve the Twitter experience on the handsets? From the onset, there was no arguing that Facebook was well integrated with the platform as opposed to Twitter – you generally had to rely on opening up the web browser to view content; like photos. Now the KIN loop will display pictures from picture links within the core panel without having to move to the browser. Even though retweeting or replying to a tweet is still a missing feature greatly wanted on the platform, some Twitter replies will now show up within the Comments feed when you select a specific tweet. Naturally this might be seen by KIN owners as a sign that more updates might be available down the road, but it looks like they'll continue to roll things out on the down low since the build number (2814.0) remains unchanged.
