Jolly Rogers subscribers with Samsung Galaxy S II LTE, happy over Android 4.1.2 update
Canadian carrier Rogers is now updating the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE to Android 4.1.2. While the Carrier's own site doesn't mention the update, it can be coaxed out of Kies or from Samsung Updates where it is update I727RUXUMA7. Originally scheduled for a January update, the February release brings Project Butter and Google Now to the phone that was at one time, the flagship Android handset. The former removes lags and allows the UI to be as responsive as possible, while the latter sends out information that you can use, when you need it.

Besides the new Android features, Sammy is tossing in some of its proprietary capabilities like "Smart Stay". This feature uses the front-facing camera to make sure that you're awake. Once the camera detects that you're sleeping, the screen follows you to dreamland. And for those of you Rogers customers  packin' the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE but have Samsung Galaxy S III envy, you'll be happy to know that after the update your phone will be running the same Android 4.1.2 OS build powering Samsung's current flagship model.
