Job postings hint that XBOX Live is still coming to Windows Mobile
We’ve heard in the past about an application that would integrate XBOX Live to handsets running off of Microsoft’s mobile platform. It’s actually been in development for some time, but no light has ever been shed on its progress. Fortunately it looks like Microsoft hasn’t fully declared it dead because a few recent job postings hint to a refocus on having XBOX Live on Windows Mobile phones.
From Microsoft, they’ve posted positions looking for a Principal Program Manager and a Software Test Engineer. On top of that, Microsoft’s partnership with LG on the matter includes a position for a Senior Software Development Engineer. It seems unlikely that we will see XBOX Live debut with Windows Mobile 6.5, instead it’s looking more promising to be released on WM 7. Undoubtedly the long wait for Windows Mobile 7 is the most pressing issue, but at least gamers have something to look forward to down the road.
