Jaybird Freedom 2 hands-on
When it comes to fitness-oriented Bluetooth headphones, Jaybird is a name that a lot of people look at because they're specifically designed to meet the rigorous demands of fitness users. With the introduction of the Jaybird Freedom back in the summer of 2016, the company slimmed down its design tremendously over its previous offerings. With its successor, the Jaybird Freedom 2, the company hopes that the improvements made here are enough warrant a consideration – more so when it's attached with a significantly lower price point.
Interestingly, they've also improved the cable management here, seeing that you can quickly adjust the fit around your head by tugging the separators accordingly. This, of course, is beneficial for activities such as running because the wire isn't flopping around. In addition, they'll withstand pretty much anything you put them through because they're sweat proof and water resistant. As for battery life, it's rated to deliver a total of 8 hours – 4 hours from a full charge, with another 4 hours with the charging clip.
For the most part, it seems as though there have been incremental improvements to the Jaybird Freedom 2. It features the same design as before, albeit, its wire management has been improved. And just like its predecessor, you can tune the quality to almost any way you want it. However, the most impressive part about the Jaybird Freedom 2 is how they've slashed the price down to $99.99, which is a tremendous drop from its predecessor's starting price of $200.
