Is this the front panel of the 6.4-inch Xiaomi Max?
Out of China today, a photograph leaked online allegedly showing the front panel of the rumored Xiaomi Max phablet. The device, which got its name from an online poll, will sport a 6.4-inch display with thin side bezels. Unlike the Xiaomi Mi 5, the Max does not feature a fingerprint scanner embedded in a front-facing home button. Instead, the biometric reader will be found on the back of the device.
Not much is known about the Xiaomi Max at this point, other than the screen size, the 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution, and the chipset. The Snapdragon 820 SoC, with its quad-core CPU and Adreno 530 GPU, will be driving the device. There are capacitive buttons at the bottom of the panel.
We could see a May release for the Xiaomi Max, if the latest speculation is true. Note the rubber gloves being worn by the person holding the panel. That could mean that the pictures were taken right by the assembly line. If we are being hoodwinked, that was a pretty clever thing to do.
