Are Verizon and Casio planning to release a smartphone with a quad-core CPU, LTE, and Android 4.0 ICS?

As long as we can remember, Verizon and Casio shared a very intimate close relationship with one another over the last several years – culminating in the creation of many rugged style devices for the carrier. Only recently, we saw Casio finally jumping into the whole Android craze with the G’Zone Commando. Interestingly enough, it seems that something more profound is brewing behind the scenes that should get people excited.

Casio’s line of devices have never really instilled enthusiasts with a sense of anticipation, mainly because they were never really big on hardware specs, but it seems that they’re aiming to go big this time around. According to one Droid-life reader, they apparently participated in a focus group where a high-end Casio smartphone was being shown off.

Sounds juicy don’t you think? Well, you can’t help but not get excited because the person mentions this Casio smartphone features a sizable AMOLED display (around 4.5 or 4.7-inches), 4G LTE connectivity, quad-core processor, NFC, 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megaixel front-facing camera, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

In terms of design, the person says it’s nothing more than being “beautifully simplistic” – meaning, it’s super streamlined, no physical buttons, and has a slight curve like what’s found on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

Perhaps this is going to spell great news for Casio, but then again, they don’t have the same brand recognition as its rivals – though, if this handset is indeed for real, it has a good shot of making some noise and giving Casio some visibility. Therefore, if Casio somehow comes to market with this device, would you even consider buying it?
