International version of Cortana now recommends places to eat and drink
Microsoft is slowly adding features to the international version of Cortana, as it tries to round out her capabilities in overseas markets. Now, the international version of Cortana can suggest eateries based on the type of food you want to eat, the price you are willing to spend, and the distance from your current location.
While those in the U.S. with a Windows Phone 8.1 powered device already have this feature, some European users have also been able to ask their virtual personal assistant to suggest a place to eat. Luckily for those using a Windows Phone 8.1 powered handset, Microsoft can add new capabilities to Cortana without having to push out a system-wide update.
So the next time you start feeling the pangs of hunger, you can turn right away to Cortana for a suggestion on where to dine. And for those families bringing along some rambunctious children, you can also ask Cortana to find restaurants that are "kid-friendly".
