International Samsung Galaxy S III (GT-I9300) receiving Android 4.3 update starting today
It was just Sunday when we told you that Android 4.3 for the international version of the Samsung Galaxy S IIIhad started to leak. Now it is Monday and the official launch of the update for the device has begun. The first model to receive the update will be the version of the Samsung Galaxy S III used by Vodafone customers in Ireland.
The changelist is rather lengthy and includes support for the Samsung Galaxy Gear and updated drivers for the GPU which improves the benchmark score of the Graphics Processor on the Galaxy S III. The unlocked version of the phone will usually see it arrive first since it has to be tested by each carrier. Having said that, as we noted above, Vodafone customers in Ireland will be among the first to receive it. Although it is pushed out in phases and is coming OTA, you can see if by sme miracle, you have received the update by going to Settings > More > About Device > Software update > Update. Or, you can hook up your phone to your PC and try to pull the update out of Samsung Kies.
