Instagram reaches 50 million downloads on Android’s Google Play
Instagram arrived on Android months ago, and while many iPhone users were unhappy, the ability to tweak the looks of your pictures with a classic vintage look was welcome to millions of Android phone owners. And now, Instagram celebrates a whopping 50 million downloads on Android.
This brings the overall count of Instagram users to 100 million, up from merely 30 million in April. And that’s quite a growth. On Android alone, it took the photo manipulation app 197 days to reach the 50 million threshold. That works out at an average 250,000 downloads a day.
Instagram was earlier acquired by Facebook for $1 billion, an impressively large sum. But with that growth it might have been worth it after all, don’t you think?
