When you think about it, there is a certain, “which came first, the chicken or the egg” genre emerging with products that have a loyal, dedicated, following.
Apple’s iPhone is the epitome of such a following. While it could be argued that Apple is approaching some turning points to maintain relevance, the fact remains at least for this year, that the announcement of the new iPhone is a singular event in mobile tech circles.
For the fans, it is something entirely different. It is a cycle of enthusiasm, denial, anger, and acceptance. Before the keynote, everyone is dancing with excitement. The excitement completely goes off the scale at the actual announcement.
Then, just like a Samsung commercial, the doubts will start to creep in. Will the new iPhone be everything the faithful have been waiting for? Will it live up to the anticipation? What happens after the new iPhone is in-hand?
The cycle immediately resets in anticipation of the next Apple product.
