Huawei invites go out for April 15 event in London; Huawei P8 expected to be unveiled
Back in January, we told you that Huawei would be holding an event on Wednesday, April 15th in London to introduce the Huawei P8. Now, the company has started sending out invitations to the event, which will kick off at 3pm local time. That equates to 11am EDT in the U.S. On the invites, Huawei exhorts recipients to "Save the Date," which you might want to do if this particular handset is of interest to you.
The manufacturer has dropped "Ascend" from the name of its handsets, which is why the model expected to be unveiled on April 15th is simply called the Huawei P8. The phone features a 5.2-inch screen with resolution of 1080 x 1920. This works out to a pixel density of 424ppi. Driving the device is a home grown 64-bit octa-core Kirin 930 CPU. 3GB of RAM is on board. 32GB of native storage is included and the P8 is rumored to be equipped with a fingerprint scanner. A 13MP camera with OIS is on back. Actually, a Duo camera system is expected, which will allow users to change the focal point and aperture of a picture after it is snapped. A 2600mAh battery powers the phone.
