Huawei invite hints that the P20 and P20 Plus will feature three cameras on back
An invitation sent out by Huawei to the media, reveals that it will be holding an event on March 27th in Paris, France to unveil its three new Huawei P20 handsets. There is speculation that two of the upcoming models, the Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Plus, will sport three camera sensors on back. They would be the first handsets to come to market with three cameras adorning the rear, with the third camera believed to offer a 5x hybrid zoom.

The invitation features a picture of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, where the unveiling will take place. In the background are three circles, representing the triple camera setup on back of the P20 and P20 Plus. At the bottom of the invitation, Huawei writes "See mooore with AI." There are three o's used in the word more, which is another hint about the three camera sensors on the two upcoming devices.

Additionally, the Huawei P20 Lite was certified by the FCC in the U.S. The phone will come with a notch on the top of its screen, similar to the one on the Apple iPhone X. Huawei will apparently use the notch to house components like the front-facing camera, the earpiece, and perhaps certain sensors as well. The FCC documentation gives us a wide range to play with in terms of specs. We could see anywhere from a 5.8-inch to 6-inch screen on the device, with a 1080 x 2280 resolution. This would work out to be an unusual 19:9 aspect ratio for the handset. We could see a vertically mounted dual-camera setup on back.

We will learn more about the three P20 models on March 27th. Circle the date on your calendar.
