Huawei executive discusses Mate S2 and Mate 9 ahead of IFA
We know for certain that Huawei has something new and potentially exciting to show the world at this week's IFA trade show in Berlin. The Chinese firm recently dropped an interesting teaser that alluded to a possible new sub-brand. There have also been some rumblings that the Mate S2, or even the Mate 9, could make their grand entrances during the event. Unfortunately, neither of these much anticipated handsets will be taking their bow, according to the word of a company exec.
From what we hear, the Huawei Nova — a range aimed specifically at the female demographic — will be showcased at IFA. So where the original Huawei Mate S first appeared at last year's event, it seems we'll have to wait a little longer for its sequel.
With just a couple of days to go until the purported Huawei Nova, the executive apparently stopped short of divulging any giveaway info. The idea of a smartphone aimed for women is certainly an intriguing one, so we shall have to see exactly how Huawei plays it. Chinese actress Guan Xiaotong has reportedly been drafted in to speak at the launch in the German capital, which will take place on September 1st.
The exec is said to have added that new Mate smartphones will arrive in around two months' time, along with an updated version of the company's Emotion UI.
