Huawei Watch now available in the U.K., offered at £289 ($440 USD) and up
The fashionable Android Wear powered Huawei Watch is now available in the U.K., with prices starting at £289 ($440 USD) and peaking at £599 ($930 USD). While the timepiece will soon be offered on the Google Play Store, it can be bought now from retailers Vmall and Selfridges. The Huawei Watch comes with a 1.4-inch AMOLED display, covered with sapphire crystal, making it resistant to scratches. The display carries a 400 x 400 resolution, and is sized at 42mm.
Powering the Huawei Watch is a Snapdragon 400 chipset, with 512MB of RAM inside. 4GB of native storage is on board, and a 300mAh battery keeps the wheels turning for as long as two days. Bluetooth 4.1LE is supported. Wi-Fi connectivity is available for those times when you can't pair the device to a smartphone. Users can customize the timepiece using black leather, or stainless steel bands.
The Huawei Watch can monitor your heart rate, but the company has opted to make this a watch first and a fancy wrist computer second. Still, it will count your steps, measure the distance that you've walked or run, and will compute the number of calories you've burned during a particular exercise.
