Huawei P9 press image of the phone's dual camera setup and fingerprint scanner surfaces

With the Huawei P9 set to be unveiled on April 6th, a press image showing the back of the phone surfaced today, just three days before the media event takes place. The image not only confirms the dual camera set up, but also confirms that a Leica camera will be at least one of the snappers used on back. Besides the flash, there is also a laser auto focus on the rear of the device. Previous rumors had both rear cameras weighing in at 12MP.

Previous speculation had the P9 bringing a 5.2-inch screen with a 1080 x 1920 FHD resolution. Huawei's home-grown Kirin 955 SoC is said to be under the hood, along with 4GB of RAM. Android 6.0 is believed to be pre-installed.

There still is confusion about the specs since we could see the Huawei P9, P9 lite, P9 Max and a special P9 enhanced version all unveiled at the same time. The 4GB of RAM and Kirin 955 SoC mentioned in today's leak is a bit more high powered than the 3GB of RAM and Kirin 950 chipset rumored earlier to be inside the phone. In addition, some leaks show a round fingerprint scanner under the camera, while others feature a squarer button.

We should have all the answers on Wednesday, when the Huawei P9 is officially unveiled. Stay tuned!

Thanks for the tip!
