Huawei Mate 20 renders show ridiculous camera island, small notch
Huawei took many by surprise when it launched the triple-camera P20 Pro, but the Chinese company promised last week an even bigger surprise once the new Mate 20 phones will be unveiled. We admit that the idea of a Mate 20 with four rear cameras crossed our minds, but only briefly. It would be quite an achievement to aesthetically accommodate four camera sensors on the back of a phone, although not really impossible.

The question is whether or not adding four rear cameras would help a smartphone achieve better results in the photography area or it would be just a marketing stunt. But it looks like Huawei has no plans to make a four-camera smartphone yet, as the Chinese company suggested not long ago.

However, the Mate 20 will indeed boast a triple rear camera and a single selfie snapper. Unlike many other smartphones that embraced the new notch trend, the Mate 20 will feature a very small one in the form of a “waterdrop.”

Several renders of the Huawei Mate 20 were recently published by XDA Developers. The renders have been specifically made after they've seen pictures of a Mate 20, but in order to protect the source's identity, they have decided to recreate the device from those photographs.

There's one thing worth mentioning before you go look at the pictures: the fingerprint sensor wasn't added in these renders because the back of the phone was protected so it wasn't visible. Still, the Mate 20 will definitely come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, it's just that we don't know the shape of it yet.

Also, the exact dimensions of the Mate 20 are still a mystery, so everything you see in these renders (bezels, notch, and camera sensors) may not be 100% accurate, but they should provide us with enough information as to what Huawei has in store for us.

Before checking out these pictures, it worth noting that the Mate 20 will feature a glass back and that it will include both a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port. As far as the specs go, the regular Mate 20 is expected to pack a Kirin 980 processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, a 6.3-inch AMOLED display, and a massive 4,200 mAh battery.
