Huawei Ascend G 300 is coming soon to Vodafone UK as a Pay As You Go option
After checking out the Huawei Ascend G300 back at this most recent Mobile World Congress show, we knew then that this Android powered smartphone would be sporting some kind of killer pricing when taking into consideration its specs sheet. Thankfully, we’re getting a clear-cut picture of what it’s going to be right now.

Today, Vodafone UK announced the upcoming availability of the Huawei Ascend G 300, which is every bit like the G300, but with just a slightly modified name. No biggie, right? Interestingly enough, it’s going to be made available as a Pay As You Go option to customers and it’s also exclusive to Vodafone UK.

For those of you wondering, the Ascend G 300 will be sporting a $159 (£100) price point when purchased with a minimum £10 PAYG top-up. Conversely, you can also pick it up in contract form for the oh-so easy to swallow price tag of free – though, you’ll need to be on a minimum £15.50 plan that consists of 100 minutes, 500 texts, and 250MB of data.

As for the specs, it’s hardly a surprise since it’s donning the same exact ones as the Ascend G300 that we checked out. Specifically, it packs a 4” display, single-core 1GHz processor, 512MB RAM, 2.5GB of internal storage, and will be running Huawei’s custom interface on top of Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Yup, it’s yet again another Gingerbread device, but it’s being promised to gain Android 4.0 ICS sometime over the summer.
