The Mate 30 series and foldable Mate X may not be able to use Google’s version of Android but Huawei is still very committed to updating its existing lineup of devices. In fact, over 30 models are set to receive Android 10 over the course of the next year.
During a presentation earlier this week which was attended by Huawei Blog, President of Software Development Chenglu Wang revealed Huawei is currently planning Android 10-based EMUI 10 updates for 35 smartphones beginning.
The initial rollout will kick off this November with the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro although the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 RS Porsche Design, and Mate 20 X won’t be too far behind with Android 10 currently scheduled for December. Also receiving EMUI 10 by the end of the year will be the Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro, and Honor View 20.
Looking into 2020, Huawei doesn’t seem to have any updates planned for January or February. March, on the other hand, will be pretty busy with Android 10 and EMUI 10 expected to arrive for the P30 Lite, P20 and P20 Pro, Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, and Mate 10 Porsche Design.
Huawei didn’t specify the remaining 15 models it plans to update to Android 10 but these should all receive the new software by the end of June at the very latest. On a separate note, it’s worth pointing out that this schedule will be preceded by the Android 10-powered Huawei Mate 30 series introduction later this month.
