Honeycomb update for the Dell Streak 7 starts rolling out to some owners
A month ago on the dot, we reported that Dell was firmly committed to getting the beloved tablet-optimized platform in Honeycomb to its Dell Streak 7 – even more when units were spotted running a build of Honeycomb at the most recent IFA tradeshow.
Well, it appears as though that some Dell Streak 7 owners are getting the update just a little bit earlier than the rumored date of October 7th – though, some are reporting different stories in regards to its installation process.
Specifically, some say that apps are left intact after the installation, while others mention that their units are wiped completely. With the latter, it makes a bit more sense taking into account that it’s getting a fresh dose of a totally new platform. On top of that, the tablet’s lower WVGA (800 x 480) resolution seemingly makes the layout feel rather cramped versus its higher resolution counterparts.

Nevertheless, it’s indeed sweet that the update is starting to roll out to some owners. Of course, you can try to manually initiate the process under the Android settings menu if you haven’t received a notification.
