Hands-on with the Samsung Behold II
With HTC and Motorola already ahead of the Android game on T-Mobile, Samsung has finally come out swinging for the fences with the Samsung Behold II. It may not be their first Android powered handset, but it's surely the first for T-Mobile from the number two phone maker in the world. We were lucky enough to attend Samsung's press event and get our first sneak peak on the much anticipated Behold II. With so many Android sets already available on the market, it's going to be an uphill battle for this one to gain a foothold after the Motorola DROID's advertising onslaught. Fortunately, it has some new features to make it unique enough to stand head above the water. First of all, Samsung's tried and true AMOLED display makes an appearance yet again to really fix your gaze right at it from the start. Secondly, you'll notice that Samsung has taken an alternate approach to the interface with its very own TouchWiz UI – although not everything has been brought over. Finally, there's a new 3D Cube Navigation that provides plenty of eye candy for launching specific applications. It seems pretty neat for right now, but we'll see if the feeling is going to be the same when we're done testing this out. We'll put it through its paces before its official launch on November 18 – it's rumored to run around the $200 price point after rebates. Expect our in-depth review soon!
