HTC says it will get rid of Droid Incredible's elephant-like memory in its browser
HTC announced that it will be sending out a "software maintenance release" that will be "pushed out" to Droid Incredible units in the near future. This will eliminate the recently discovered problem that the device has with taking thumbnail screenshots of random web sites that you have surfed to, and placing them in a folder that cannot be removed-even with a factory reset. Until the manufacturer has a chance to send out the fix, there is a manual cure. First, go to the "Settings" menu and select "SD Card and Phone Storage". Lastly, select "Format Phone Storage". Some important notes. You need to back up all of your files in internal storage, including images and music, before you do this because this manual fix will delete them. Other HTC Android devices with HTC Sense are not subject to this problem because the thumbnails are sent to an SD card which can easily be removed before you trade in or sell your phone. But if you do own the Droid Incredible and want to keep some of those special sites you visited on the low down, fear not. You can try the manual fix (again, don't forget to back up files in internal storage), or wait for the cure directly from HTC. In the meantime, just don't lend anyone your phone.
