HTC says it is committed to Beats Audio for its mobile devices
HTC's $300 million investment in Beats by Dre has brought on branding advantages for both companies, and the reassuring Beats Audio sign on the back of HTC phones now means you are in for a better than average audio experience, provided that you plug in one of them expensive pairs of in-ear headphones.
With the dismissal of its outspoken CFO Winston Yung, speculation started that the Beats Audio partnership might start dwindling, as Mr Yung was one of its strongest backers and the person behind signing the deal. HTC, however, came up with an official statement on the matter by Peter Chou, dispelling all rumors:
Media speculation that ties this announcement to HTC’s partnership and investment in Beats By Dre is categorically inaccurate. HTC and Beats have made impressive progress in innovation and brand awareness and the integration of the Beats brand and technology in the new HTC One series is a clear indication of our commitment to this partnership.
Oh yeah, HTC, then why did you stop packaging the expensive Beats headphones with your new One series, HTC? We know, we know, you are going through some tough times these quarters, but it's good to know that Beats Audio is still to be an integral part of HTC's handsets.
