HTC is likely to unveil the HTC A9 "Aero" on September 29 alongside another high-end handset

Last week, HTC teased an upcoming "handsome" smartphone, leading many to believe that the handset in question will be the often-rumored HTC One A9 "Aero". Unfortunately for those of you with an eye for high-end smartphones, it turned out that HTC was referring to a mid-range model, the HTC Desire 728. In less than 24 hours since unveiling the Desire 728, however, HTC started sending invites to an event where not one, but two high-end smartphones might see the light of day.

The invite, which you can see above, reads "The World Best Meets The Best", which is thought to mean that the Taiwan-based manufacturer will actually unveil two new high-end smartphones. Obviously, one of these handsets could well be the HTC One A9 / Aero. According to previous rumors, the "Aero" will come with specs such as a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor, a QHD display, 4GB of RAM, as well as a new primary camera that can shoot RAW photos.

The second handset - if we're reading through the teaser correctly, that is - might be a new HTC Butterfly smartphone aimed at the Japanese market or just another spinoff based on the HTC One M9.

The event is scheduled for September 29, which is just three weeks from now. There's a very good chance that we'll get to learn more about HTC's upcoming phones before the company officially unveils them, as is often the case with upcoming high-end smartphones. As soon as new info is available, we'll be right here to bring it to you, so stay tuned!
